Mini Grants

Dear Grant Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in applying for a mini-grant from the Central Illinois Autism Association (CIAA). One of our goals is to provide support to those with Autism Spectrum Disorders, whether it is in the home, school, or in the community.

We support Peoria and the surrounding counties. Our fundraising efforts and donations have allowed CIAA to help support local businesses and organizations to assist in making our community more autism friendly by creating sensory rooms and autism friendly events- but the possibilities are endless.  In the home, we’ve funded various items aiding in independence such as communication devices, safety supports, sensory needs, and more. Grant applications are available for any child or adult with autism regardless of his or her current socioeconomic status.

Mini grants are available up to $500.00 per year. Applications will be reviewed four times a year. You will be contacted with an update on the status of your application in accordance to the quarterly schedule. The quarterly schedule can be found on our website.

There are some limitations in how grant funding can be used. Please note that grants cannot be used for childcare/babysitting, respite care, therapy that would cease after the grant runs out, or insurance premiums. Grants for Boardmaker software will only be funded up to $200. Gift cards cannot be mailed to you. The number of grants submitted for a given school district or organization will be taken into consideration when evaluating the grant request.  Grants are typically only available to these counties: Knox, Stark, Peoria, Marshall, Woodford, Tazewell, Mason, Fulton, Warren, LaSalle; however, other Central Illinois counties not serviced by a local autism group may be considered.

Effective January 1st, 2019 CIAA will be reviewing and award grants on a quarterly basis. The schedule below outlines the grant deadlines and when applicants will be notified.
