Grant Details

CIAA provides grants to support individuals with autism and those who work with them.
Please review the eligibility and guidelines below before applying.

  • Award frequency: Grants are awarded four times per year.
  • Funding amount: Up to $750 every 12 months per recipient.
  • Who can apply:
    • Individuals diagnosed with autism.
    • Proof of diagnosis may be asked for.
    • Parents, therapists, teachers, or others working directly with individuals with autism.

Geographic Eligibility

  • Applicants must live in one of the following Illinois counties:
    Knox, Stark, Peoria, Marshall, Woodford, Tazewell, Mason, Fulton, Warren, or LaSalle.
  • Other Central Illinois counties not served by another local autism group may be considered.

Application Requirements

  • Include links to specific items you are requesting.
  • For therapy or adaptive equipment/devices, include recommendations from a therapist and/or doctor.
  • If awarded:
    • Payments are sent directly to vendors.
    • Items are shipped directly to the recipient.
    • No checks are mailed to individuals.

Commonly Funded Supports

  • Sensory and adaptive equipment
  • Safety items (e.g., door alarms, ID bracelets)
  • AAC devices not covered by insurance (must provide proof of denial)
  • Supplemental items for classrooms or therapy offices

Grants Will Not Cover

  • Applicants outside the service area (except in uncovered Central Illinois counties)
  • Ongoing therapy costs
  • Copays or deductibles
  • AAC devices covered by insurance
  • Childcare or babysitting
  • Gas, food, housing, or bills
  • Pools or hot tubs
  • Projects beginning more than 6 months after the application date
