President’s Welcome

Hello and thank you for visiting us at the Central Illinois Autism Association! Whether you have joined us as an individual with autism, caregiver, professional, friend, or community member just wanting to know more we welcome you to the community!

Here at CIAA our main goal is support those with autism within our community regardless of where they fall on the spectrum. Our aim is to help make each individual as independent and successful as they can be along with supporting their employers, family members, and friends.

Throughout the year we hold various fundraisers that we turn into mini grants for the community. We offer these grants to families, teachers, therapists, or anyone else who is supporting an individual with autism. Grants can be used for communication devices, sensory needs, adaptation materials, and more.

Advocacy is also important to us! We give free autism trainings to local businesses as well as creating free visuals for those in need in order to make our community more autism friendly. We also offer awards for professionals and peers who go above and beyond for individuals with autism.

You may be familiar with our old name as the Peoria Autism Society. Effective on January 1st, 2018 we disbanded from the Autism Society of America in order to keep more funds local! Please feel free to contact with any questions about this changeover.

We’re glad you’re here, and we hope to help you as much as we can! Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!
